Advantages
Australia Awards Scholarships are provided for the duration required for the recipient to finish the specified academic program at an Australian higher education institution, which may include preparatory courses. The scholarships typically include the following benefits:

- Round-trip air travel–reimbursement of a single round-trip, economy class flight to and from Australia, taking the most direct route.
- Establishment grant–a one-time payment to assist with accommodation costs, textbooks, study materials
Living Expenses Support (LES) – a bi-weekly stipend for essential living expenses provided at a rate set by the department. - Orientation Academic Program (OAP)–a mandatory program before the start of formal academic studies that covers information on living and studying in Australia.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of the scholarship (for the recipient only)–offered to cover basic medical expenses for the scholar (excluding pre-existing conditions).
- Preparatory English (PE) fees–if required, PE may be offered to students for training either in their home country or in Australia.
- additional academic assistance may be provided to ensure a scholar’s academic achievement or enrich their academic journey.
- fieldwork (for research scholarships and Masters by coursework with a research component requiring mandatory fieldwork) may be available for eligible research students for one round-trip economy class flight via the most direct route to their home country or within Australia.
Terms and requirements for being awarded
Applicants seeking to accept an Australia Awards Scholarship are obligated to enter into a contractual agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia, affirming their commitment to abide by the scholarship’s terms and conditions.
Upon completion of their scholarship, scholars are obliged to depart from Australia for a period of at least two years. Failure to comply with this requirement will lead to the scholar being held responsible for the entire accumulated cost of their scholarship.

It is important to note that Indonesia and the Philippines do not utilize the Online Australia Scholarships Information System (OASIS). Upon online registration, you will need to answer a series of questions to determine your eligibility. Subsequently, you will receive a unique registration number, username, and password.
There is no requirement to submit your application immediately. You have the option to create a draft application form and make updates, along with attaching supporting documents, until the specified closing date as indicated in the relevant participating country profile.
Once your application is submitted, it cannot be modified. We recommend that online applicants complete their applications well in advance of the closing date. OASIS typically experiences high traffic in the days leading up to the deadline, which may cause delays for applicants.
